BJANE 2024: A Year of Culture, Community, and Connection
Promoting Hindi Language
In collaboration with Hindi USA, BJANE proudly launched its initiative to promote Hindi among children. Through engaging classes and interactive workshops, this program was successfully introduced in Westborough and Needham, serving a total of 80 children—40 at each location. These efforts aim to strengthen children's cultural identity and help them connect with their roots. This marks a significant milestone in fostering linguistic and cultural pride among the next generation.
FIT BJANE: Walking Towards Wellness
BJANE launched FIT BJANE, inspiring members to embrace a healthier lifestyle through group walks and hikes. The Wachusett Mountain hike and scenic walks brought the community together in a spirit of fitness, fun, and friendship.
Women Empowerment Series
BJANE introduced a series of webinars and in-person sessions on financial literacy, empowering women to become confident decision-makers in their personal and professional lives.
Makar Sankranti Celebration
BJANE celebrated Makar Sankranti for the first time, reconnecting the community with this traditional festival. Kite flying, festive foods, and vibrant cultural activities made this event a nostalgic and joyous occasion.
Holi: Festival of Colors
BJANE’s Holi celebration brought members together to revel in the festival of colors. With vibrant gulal, joyous music, and festive treats, it was an event filled with happiness, togetherness, and cultural pride.
Summer Picnic
The annual BJANE Summer Picnic was a day filled with fun, food, and laughter. Approximately 250 people, including children and visiting parents from India, gathered to enjoy outdoor games, delicious potluck dishes, and a vibrant sense of community under the warm summer sun. This memorable event brought families closer, creating cherished moments and strengthening our bonds.
Diwali Celebration: A Festival to Remember
BJANE’s Diwali celebration reached new heights with a lively flash mob dance, vibrant decorations, and heartfelt performances. Attended by over 275 people, this was a landmark event as it featured BJANE’s first-ever flash mob dance, adding an extra spark to the festivities. The event created cherished memories, bringing the community closer together during the festival of lights and celebrating our shared cultural heritage.
BJANE Milestones: Building a Stronger Future
This year marked a period of remarkable growth and transformation for BJANE, as we took significant steps to enhance our leadership, streamline operations, and engage with our community in new and innovative ways.
BJANE expanded its leadership team by introducing a new Advisory Team, enhancing its capacity for strategic planning and innovation. This new team brings fresh energy and vision to BJANE’s mission.
Launch of a New Website and Branding
BJANE proudly launched its brand-new website and BJANE-branded email system, providing a professional, easy-to-use platform for members to stay updated and engaged.
BJANE introduced its first-ever membership program, enabling members to contribute to decision-making, enjoy event discounts, and actively support the organization’s growth.
Streamlined Operations
BJANE established its own bank account, enhanced donation systems (Venmo and Zelle), introduced seamless online registrations, and ensured full compliance with IRS and state requirements. Additionally, BJANE began sharing detailed, itemized expenses and financial summaries for each event with members and registered attendees, fostering greater transparency and trust.
